Former World Champion Freestylist at ASC

Tamara Koyn, former world champion freestylist, is at Atlanta Skydiving Center for the next week. Tamara will be holding a free seminar on freestyle skydiving this Saturday night (July 10) after the last load of jumpers has landed. The seminar is open to all skill levels of skydivers who hold an A License or higher.

Tamara began making freestyle jumps in 1985, started coaching and teaching the discipline in 1988 and was the world champion in freestyle in 1992. She also is an international freestyle judge. Tamara is available for individual coaching as well. She can be reached at the drop zone at 678-747-1004.

The CASA boogie was a success this past weekend! For the first time this summer we had beautiful weather all weekend long! A big thanks to Colon and Ankie of Sunrise Rigging for bringing out the demo Wings containers. Scotty Carbone, Anthony Stone and Tyler Lawson were organizing through the weekend and put together some spectacular skydives, including a raft dive out of the back of the CASA. The CASA will return for the final time this year on Sept. 3, 4 and 5.

Running Man is back in town this week with the goofy mirrors on his gloves! And Marty came out to skydive after a long layoff. It was great to see some familiar faces back in the skies over ASC.

ASC Instructor Mike Gruwell made a July 4 demo jump into downtown Woodstock with three other local jumpers: Treetop, Howard and Don. The demo jump onto Main Street in front of the park preceeded the Woodstock parade. The demo skydive included trailing smoke and two American flags. Nice job guys!

And finally, make sure to give a word or two of encouragement to the four instructors trying to attain their AFF ratings this week at Atlanta Skydiving Center. USPA President Glenn Bangs is in town conducting an AFF instructor evaluation course, which started Monday and lasts through the weekend. Chuck Owen, Rob Morris, Mark Kalupa and Bruno Asmann are part of this year's class of AFF candidates. AFF Instructor/Evaluator Fast Eddie Grantland is assisting Glenn with the evaluation course. Good luck Chuck, Rob, Mark and Bruno!

See you all for $15 Wednesday as well as the early bird $15 jumps this weekend before 10 a.m.! The Super Twin Otter will back in town from its trip to our Philadelphia drop zone at Skydive Pennridge last weekend. Woohoo!
