This has been an exciting 2007 season at Atlanta Skydiving Center! First-time students and experienced jumpers alike have taken advantage of the beautiful weather and improved their skills.
On Monday and Tuesday, Scott Miller of Flight-1 in Deland, Florida taught the essentials canopy course to our full-time staff as well as a few experienced jumpers who frequent the drop zone. A total of fifteen people took advantage of the opportunity to learn more about flying their canopies. Jumpers learned about the proper flare of their canopy, turbulence, long spots, traffic avoidance, and the stall. Everyone came out of the course with more knowledge that can be passed down to our students.
Saturday and Sunday turned out to be quite nice. Many experienced jumpers came out and made exciting jumps this weekend. Harry Short, Daniel Smith, and Michael Waller made their annual trip from Ohio to enjoy the warm southern sun. They took advantage of the weather and cranked out a lot of jumps over the weekend. Brett Dashe visited from California and celebrated his 200th jump.
There was a lot happening thanks to the organizational skills of Michael B. and Joey Day of Team ONE. Jumpers participated in coach jumps, hybrids, tube jumps, hop and pops, belly skydives, high pulls, and free fly jumps. There is always something for everyone at Atlanta Skydiving Center!
2007 Good Vibes Boogie hosted by Team ONE March 28 – April 1
It is still a little ways away, but this year’s “Good Vibes Boogie” might just be the best boogie that has ever been hosted at Atlanta Skydiving Center. Joey Day of Team ONE has lined up a lot of action that everyone is sure to enjoy! First, the mechanical bull will be back at Atlanta Skydiving Center. Combined with an Oxygen Bar, a swoop competition, and KY Jelly Wrestling, (all organized by Sporto of Team Mayhem and Jimmy Tranter of CK 1), and you may just have the sickest event ever!
I encourage anyone who has not been to the “Good Vibes Boogie” to make your plans now. This end-of-March boogie will leave you speechless! Who says that the big boogies are dying? Ours is just getting fired up! For more information, contact Sunman at www.myspace.com/teamoneskydiving.
Don’t forget that we are open 7 days a week. Bring your Valentine sweetie out for a skydive on Wednesday! It’s the perfect gift!
