Canopy Skills Seminar This Saturday
Due to a good turnout for the first camp earlier this
month, Competitive Canopy Pilot TJ Landgren is hosting a
second canopy skills
seminar for all levels of skydivers Saturday, August 28,
at Atlanta Skydiving Center.
The camp includes a ground school followed by four videotaped
landings with debriefs by TJ. Many of the skills taught
during the camp are necessary sign-offs for A, B and C licenses.
Intermediate skydivers will learn how to get more out of
their canopy.
Cost
of the course is $110 plus the cost of four hop and pops.
The ground schools begins at 8:30 a.m. and will immediately
be followed by the four hop and pops. See TJ at the DZ to
register or call 678-747-1004 to add your name to the registration
list.
More ASC skydivers hit milestone jumps last week. Congratulations
to packer and manifestor Jessica Edgeington who made jump
500 during the week, while Nick Moulson hit 100 jumps over
the weekend .
Katie and Gillian made their first pond swoops last week
leading their foray at the ASC pond with a couple of spectacular
demonstrations of water displacement! By the end of the
week, Katie looked like a pro!
We now have
four new USPA Coaches on the drop zone as Dan McAllister,
Bryan McGuigan, Wayne McComb and Jessica Edgeington completed
the Coach Course given by Mark Kalupa over the weekend.
Younger jumpers needing help with completing the A License
requirements should seek our new coaches out. Great job
Dan, Bryan, Wayne and Jessica!
Tyler Lawson
and Kenny Pugh stopped in at ASC mid-week on their way back
from the Ranch Pond Swoop Nationals. Kenny finished 35th
and Tyler finished 41st. TJ Landgren was a judge at the
meet . Tyler will
be in Florida this weekend competing at a Florida Swooping
League meet. Go Big!!!
And finally, don't forget about the upcoming CASA Boogie.
It's the final ASC CASA Boogie of the year! The CASA will
be in town Sept. 3, 4 and 5! Come jump the tailgate with
all of your skydiving friends. Woohoo!
