November ended on a high note with two milestones at
Atlanta Skydiving Center. Michael Blankinship
celebrated his 300th jump with a 6-way freefly jump
on Sunday. The group launched a head-down round and
transitioned to a 3-way stairstep with lurkers. Two
loads later, Drew Cole hit 100 jumps with a 9-way
tracking dive that began two miles southwest of the
drop zone.
It was cold Thanksgiving week at ASC as temperatures
dipped into the high 20s. A group of six skydivers
from Indiana visited for the 4-day weekend and stayed
in the bunk house. The weather didn't cooperate on
Thanksgiving Day, but Ben had the visiting group
along with local skydivers over to his house for a
Thanksgiving dinner.
Saturday and Sunday were cold yet beautiful skydiving
days. The Super Twin Otter was full both days as
experienced jumpers came out in force to enjoy the
crisp air and beautiful views of the Taledega
National Forest and Atlanta skyline.
Decorations are up at ASC for the Christmas holidays
and Christmas party. See you all there Saturday Dec.
6. The annual White Elephant Gift Exchange will begin
an hour after the sunset load.
