Three milestone jump numbers were hit this past boogie weekend as Adam
Harris made his 200th jump, Michael Blankinship hit 500 and Nicki hit
jump number 1000! A hybrid jump organized by Kenny Pugh celebrated Adam's
200th, which Michael led a tracking dive for number 500. Nicki was on a
tandem skydive for his 1000th jump.
South Africans Nicki and Jean arrived at Atlanta Skydiving Center
Saturday morning and were making tandem jumps by noon. Nicki and Jean will be
familiar faces around ASC for the next two months.
Keith Dempsey graduated the AFF program last weekend. Nice job! We're
looking forward to having you out jumping every weekend with the rest
of the ASC crew! Don't forget your beer...
The Saturday night party at ASC included a free dinner with
entertainment provided by SunMan, Tyler Lawson and Michael Blankinship. The shadow
puppet show off the deck hit a fever pitch in no time!
Experienced jumpers and staff put together an 18-way "Superfly" belly
dive on the Sunday sunset load. The base accidentally started freeflying off
the plane, but most of the jumpers still were able to get in for the
Superfly dive. Kenny Pugh and Tyler Lawson put a good show on the swoop
pond to finish out the weekend.
Kenny, Tyler and TJ Landgren, representing ASC, headed to the Swoop
Nationals this week at the Ranch in New York and will travel to the
Florida Swooping League meet next weekend. Go Big!
And finally, mark your calendars for the final CASA boogie of the year
at Atlanta Skydiving Center. The CASA will be in town Sept. 3, 4 and 5.
