It was quite the weekend at Atlanta Skydiving Center as the $12.50
lift tickets, Mirage demos and beautiful Saturday weather made for a busy
boogie. Kenny Pugh's no-hander swoop was one of the highlights of the
weekend as he didn't quite make it out of the 220-foot pond...mud and
water everywhere!
Bruno Asmann took home the discount certificate for 35% off a brand
new Mirage while several jumpers took home Mirage T-shirts, stickers and
patches.
A big thanks to Surf for bringing all the stock Mirage
containers and showing off the latest options! Mark Shimell bought himself a
brand new Mirage Friday night and had Chuting Star Rigging Loft assemble it
that night...he was jumping it the next morning. Good riddance to that old
Reflex!!! Lachlan and Michelle got measured for new Mirages and Pell
City jumper Emily found a stock container that fit her perfectly. Surf
said couldn't believe how Mirage-dominant we are at ASC. We know a great
rig when we find one! We're looking forward to having Mirage back in town
soon.
Congratulations to Julian Daconceicao who graduated the AFF student
program on Sunday! He will be around for a few more days but will
return back to his home work base in Italy. We're looking forward to a
return visit in the near future...thanks for the case of Guinness!
ASC 4-way teams Kinesis and Inviscid trained all day Saturday. The
teams are preparing for the U.S. Nationals later this year.
Experienced skydivers looking to get their AFF Instructor rating
should contact Lisa Pugh at the ASC manifest office (678-747-1014). A course
is scheduled for July 5-11 at ASC. Glenn Bangs will be the course
director.
The course will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 5. A $100 deposit is
required to hold your slot. We already have 5 jumpers signed up, but
more skydivers are welcome. Contact Lisa for more details. Our own Fast
Eddie Grantland will be an evaluator for the AFF Instructor candidates.
Beth and husband Egon visited us from Orlando this weekend.
Both were former employees and it was great to see them
again. Beth did a recurrency jump to get her wings back
after a yearlong break. After her recurrency jump, Deva,
Beth, myself and Bruno (Camera) went up to do Beth's PMS
initiation. First we passed Beth the Barbie then we did
a 3-way hybrid dive. Beth and Tami flew base and Deva hung.
It was awesome!!!!!!!
Finally, don't forget $15 lift ticket Wednesdays as well as the
Breakfast Club of Canopy Piloting on Thursday beginning at 8:30 a.m. And we
still have early bird jumps to 14,000+ feet on Thursday, Saturday and
Sunday mornings before 10 a.m. See you this week!
