Atlanta Skydiving Center Staff Members Finish Top Ten For CPC Championship
The recent Canopy Piloting Circuit (CPC) season came to a close with Atlanta Skydiving Center once again demonstrating why it is World Class! Both Tyler Lawson and Chuck Owen finished in the Top Ten at the CPC Championships. After a rocky start, Tyler rebounded to finish in ninth place! Meanwhile, Chuck swooped his way to 3rd place and $1,000 in prize money! Finishing in the Top Ten of 85 competitors qualifies our pros to try out for the PST. Way to go!
Back home, many of our adventurers have realized milestones.
Kelsey Brennan (pictured right), aka most awesome packer, graduated from AFF Level 7. Of course, she was promptly and properly pied! Brian Ward, Ron, Aaron A., and Demian hit their 600, 500, 400, and 300th jumps respectively. Afterward, Ron and Demian were pied at El Nopal. Great job, everyone!
Here's something Atlanta Skydiving Center and no other jump site can brag about -Aubie, Auburn University's mascot, made his tandem jump on Sunday, October 2! The exuberant tiger's jump will be used for an upcoming mascot competition. On the ground again, jump master, Tyler Lawson marveled, "The mascot kept his vow of silence the whole skydive --- it was really weird." How 'bout a big ROAR for Aubie!
Renowned race car driver and Atlanta Skydiving Center's own Gunnar Jeanette zipped closer to the end of this year's racing season with the Le Petite Le Mans at Road Atlanta. Next week, he and his screaming speed machine compete in Virginia.
Micheal Blankinship is now the proud father of a future skydiver! The smallest Team One member is said to be making his bid for Secretary of Defense for the group.
And Happy Birthday goes to Mini Butler (Jordan), who celebrated his big #1 last week!
