New Years Week at ASC
Our Fall-like Winter continued into January as New Year's
week was a busy one at ASC. New Year's Eve and New Year's
Day felt like a Saturday and Sunday as the Twin Otter flew
all day long both days.
A belated congratulations to Fast Eddie Grantland who surpassed
106 hours of freefall last weekend. Fast Eddie who had some
health problems this past year is back in the air instructing
AFF and Tandem students. He even made a cross-country jump
on Sunday and was the only jumper of 14 to make it back to
the drop zone from 10 miles out. He even landed on the X!
Kenny Pugh had his first cutaway on Saturday thanks to a Velocity
CRW wrap as he was docking on Mike Gruwell to complete a 3-stack
with Nate Gilbert. The formation collapsed between Kenny and
Mike, which eventually led to Kenny's cutaway. Everyone escaped
relatively unscathed and with some exciting video. Woohoo!
And finally, two jumpers owe beer for their brand new rigs
which came in this week and were assembled at Chuting Star
Rigging Loft. Brian Ward and Joe Stroop each made their first
jumps on their Mirage containers this week. Looking good...
The mid-week weather looks perfect, so come join us for the
$15 jumps on Wednesday.
