Four ASC Skydivers Become Tandem Jumpmasters

Jeff Fincher of Alabama Skydiving Center , as well as Brian Ward, Ryan Clough, and Katie Hawkins of Atlanta Skydiving Center completed their tandem course over the Halloween weekend. The four jumpers started early Friday morning and finished Sunday, mid-afternoon. Congratulations to all involved! And a special thanks to Kip Lohmiller for conducting the course.

We welcomed a couple of our military jumpers back over the past couple of weeks. Dan Richardson (pictured left), who just returned from Iraq, and Michael McCave stopped by and made some jumps while on leave. McCave just completed Ranger School and is now on his way to Hawaii. Hope to see you guys back again soon.

Edvaldo Cruz organized a jump to memorialize his friend, JoJo. JoJo died in Brazil of a heart attack. Some local jumpers went on a tube dive with Cruz (pictured right) to celebrate his friend's life. Pictures of the jump will appear in an upcoming Brazilian newspaper edition.

We have a few new jumpers to add to the Atlanta Skydiving Center family. They have accomplished the first of many goals and graduated AFF. A big salute to Robbie Whitten, Mickey Mitchell (pictured left), Michael and Dewayne Burton, Anthony Cortest, Roger Shates, as well as the "twins",

Michael and Luke Watkins. Great Job! Oh yeah, Luke, watch out for stop signs. Those things hurt.

Mark Your Calendars! December 10, 2005, Atlanta Skydiving Center will have our Christmas Party at the Drop Zone. As usual, we ask that you bring a side dish and a White Elephant Gift (real or gag gift around $20).

Also on December 10, Kate Hoffstetter will be having a Sitfly Skills Camp. For those who wish to attend the skills camp, you can reserve your slot with Kate at the DZ (678)747-1012. Registration for the camp will be $30 and will consist of as many jumps as possible, as well as video debriefs after each jump. All skill levels welcome.

Remember Christmas is just around the corner. Give the gift that keeps on giving, FREEFALL! Get a tandem gift certificate for someone you know!
