There's
a new team in town, representing Cleveland, Tennessee at
Atlanta Skydiving Center. It's a team of friends, skydivers,
work associates and late night partiers. The personalities
are one-of-a-kind...and the skydives are original. Atlanta
Skydiving Center jumpers Sunman, Jack, Michael Blankinship
and Ron Stamey have formed Team One.
Sunman debuted the team's compilation video last weekend,
showing off recent jumps team members have made as well
as other friends jumping at ASC. The team will be training
and jumping on some weekdays and every weekend at ASC. Team
One jump experience level ranges from hundreds of jumps
(Sunman, Michael and Ron) to someone who just finished AFF
just a couple of months ago, Jack. Team One member Ron Stamey
made his 200th jump this past weekend with a four-way sitfly
dive with Kenny Pugh on video. Team One is in the ASC HOUSE!
The winds were a bit high to jump much on Saturday, but
we still managed several experienced jumper hop and pop
loads as well as a few sunset load when the wind died down.
It was a kite-flying extravaganza on Saturday in the ASC
landing area. Sunday was beautiful and the Twin Otter was
flying all day long!
We have two new skydivers working on their A licenses at
ASC as Linda Chipko and Sheena Farr graduated the AFF program
this past weekend. Way to go!
And meanwhile, a belated pieing was laid upon Gunnar Jeannette
for his 100th jump made the prior weekend. Many of the ASC
staff and fun jumpers are making trips to Road Atlanta this
week to see Gunnar race in the Petit Le Mans. Gunnar will
be training and racing all week long. For more info, see
the ASC Forums.
The Speed Star Tracking Dive is here! ASC jumpers have brought
back the old school Speed Star thanks to Tyler Lawson and
Mike Gruwell. Success has been frightenly limited as we've
tried to go big with the size of the formations and differing
skill levels. We've also added a little twist. Building
the Speed Star is just the beginning. The goal is to get
everyone on level at the star and then start a tracking
dive together. Anyone interested in some Speed Star Tracking
should see Tyler as we will attempt plenty more of the dives
every weekend.
Lastly, don't forget to check out the new Skydivegear.com
store next to manifest. Jim Vance and Brian Ward have been
hard at work over the past few weeks setting up the store.
It will be open for business everyday starting Friday. Come
check out the latest stock of skydiving gear. We've added
a large selection of T-Shirts to the new store.
See you all at the Breakfast Club of Canopy Piloting Thursday
morning at sunrise! Early morning Otter Hop and Pops are
$9 and only $15 to 14,500!
