A beautiful week at ASC was marred slightly by high winds
which allowed only 5 jumpable days. But jumpers made the most
of the days available.
Recent AFF graduate Charlie Cummins completed most of
his A-License proficiency card on Tuesday with the help
of some RW coaching at ASC. We also had four AFF students
out that day working on a variety of levels.
Only one load made it in the air on Wednesday due to high
winds, but that jump was a beauty at sunset. A thin layer
of clouds to the west of the drop zone made for an amazing
sunset view for fun jumpers and students. Gusts upto 45
knots made all of Thursday unjumpable, but we were back
in the skies on Friday.
Skateboarder extraodinaire Tony Hawk visited ASC and made
his first skydive on Friday morning. Instructor Chuck
Owen took Tony on a tandem skydive with Nate Gilbert on
video. Tony Hawk was in town for a skateboarding event.
A couple of Tony Hawk's friends are experienced jumpers
and wanted Tony to get a taste of freefall...he loved it
of course!
