USPA Coach Course Dec. 10-12 at Atlanta Skydiving Center
More
coaches are being grown at Atlanta Skydiving Center
in the upcoming weeks! United States Parachute Association
Coach Course Director Mark Kalupa is holding a rating course
December 10th-12th at ASC.
We’ve had more than 10 C-Licenses skydivers express
interest in becoming an USPA Coach. If you would like to
participate in the USPA Coach Course, contact Mark directly
at Mark@Kalupa.com.
Specific information on the course can be found on the ASC
Skydiver Forums.
Prizes for the top teams in the upcoming 2-way RW competition
are getting better! This competition is open to A, B, and
C licensed skydivers as well as USPA coaches
who will be assisting the 2-way teams. The competition is
set for Saturday, Dec. 11 at ASC.
Skyventure Orlando is giving away 30 minutes of free wind
tunnel time with the purchase of 30 minutes. We also have
two discount certificates from Bev Suits, Performance
Designs and Aerodyne. The National Skydiving
League is giving away two pairs of NSL
gloves while Atlanta Skydiving
Center is giving away lift tickets. Skydivegear.com
and Chutingstar
will have gear and rigging prizes as well. For details and
rules, see the ASC Skydiver
Forums.
The weather for the week wasn’t the greatest, but
we still found a few days of beautiful blue skies! In particular,
Friday and Sunday, were absolutely stunning days with tons
of skydiving
over ASC. The King Air and Porter were flying all week while
the Twin Otter was on its way back from a Florida trip.
Paul Fritz is our newest A License skydiver
as he completed his requirements Sunday with a checkout
dive and then finished up the remaining ground requirements.
Nice job Paul! And he’s already promised to bring
beer out…woohoo! Nick Carter got closer to his A License
on Sunday and should be finished with his remaining requirements
by this weekend.
It was great to see USPA National Director
Danny Page at Atlanta Skydiving Center
on Sunday. Danny stopped by to make a few jumps and helped
the staff out by making a couple of tandem/AFF
instruction jumps at the end of the day. It is an election
year for the United States Parachute Association
and Danny is a local voice for your wishes, wants and concerns.
Danny will be back for the ASC Christmas Party
December 11th, so you can find out more about his plans
for the USPA at that time.
Team One from Cleveland, Tennessee, was
out jumping and filming all weekend.
The freefly team
had a new piece of gear as Michael Blankinship’s Xaos21
canopy came in during the week. Michael swooped the ASC
ground course all weekend.
Don’t
forget that ASC is a drop-off location
for Toys for Tots. Show your spirit of
giving to the unfortunate and bring a new, unwrapped toy
over the next couple of weeks. We are officially collecting
the Toys
for Tots organization through to December 12th.
See you all this week for $15 Lift Ticket Wednesday
as well as a beautiful weekend of skydiving
out of the Super Twin Otter over ASC!
